Moong Dal Khichdi also known as Khichadi or Khichuri is a comfort food that most commonly eaten by INDIAN. It is made with dal , as we all known that dal is good for health and in this Khichdi some spices and dal and rice is added to prepaid this dish. Making Khichdi very easy and very simple it can be prepaid any time like mostly Indian people make Khichdi during Fast and in any occasion .
Well in this Moong Dal Khichdi I have used Onion but if you are making for Fast then you can avoid that and make the Khichdi . It's not only making during the Festival time but we you are tired and want to eat some healthy food then you can have this Moong Dal Khichdi and it's very good for the diet even .

The name of the word Khichdi derived from the Sanskrit term Kicca means dish of rice. The most common Khichdi is MOONG DAL only. The Khichdi is also given to babies as a first food, when you're serving to babies add less spices and don't used Green Pease . The simple way of making Khichdi is to Cook the rice and dal with slat and turmeric in Cooker and on top add some Dasi Ghee.
The recipe which I share is also very simple and Quick to make for Lunch or Dinner and serve with PICKLE or POTATO FRY and BRINJAL FRY.
Now let's see How to make MOONG Dal Khichdi step by step:
Step 1: Firstly was dal and rice with clean water.
Step 2: Then take the press cooker add wash rice and dal , add 4 cup water , add 1/2 TSP salt, add 1 pin turmeric powder cover the cooker lead .
Cook for 4 whistle from medium to low flames
Step 3: Now take a pan add 2 TSP ghee , add 1/2 TSP of cumin seeds, add finely chopped onion fry till color turn into brown color.
Step 4: Then add 1 chopped green chili, add 1 chopped tomatoes saute it.
Step 5: Then add 1/2 tsp red chili powder, add 1 pin turmeric powder, 1/4 Garam masala (option),add 1/2 tsp green coriander powder, add salt as per taste mix well all the spices.
Step 6: After that add green peas mix it then cover the pan and let it cook for 2,3 min .
Step 7: After all masala are cooked add the dal &rice cook khichdi then mix it with cook masala and again cook for 2 min then sprinkle some coriander leaves on top.
At last the Moong Dal Khichdi is ready to serve!!
