Aloo Dhokla is sound some unique right, yes it's a unique dish. As we know that Dhokla are famous in Gujarat, Maharashtra and now a days Dhokla like by everyone.
Now let's see what is Aloo Dhokla, the name it self is Aloo so we know it is made of aloo , as aloo love by everyone. This Aloo Dhokla can be prepared during the breakfast time and serve it with tomato sauce or with pudina chutney.

Let me share some tricks and tips to make this Aloo Dhokla, firstly as batter plan an important roll , we should keep in mind that the batter should not be too thick or too thin it should be a normal consistency and if you have the idli steamer you can used that for cooking Aloo Dhokla.
I make frequent this dish as in this pandemic we can't eat outside food much and we will get bored of having same kind of dish everyday. For a some different change , I have tried this dish and also thought to share with my reader also.
As we all know that first time what ever dish we make it won't be perfect , as same way you need to try for one's or twice . To be frank when I have make first time it was not perfect then at second time I got the exact dish.
Well crispy dish love by everyone in the same manner the Aloo Dhokla is crispy and it's can have in Breakfast time.
Aloo Dhokla
- 2 chopped potato
- 1 chopped tomatoes
- 1 inch ginger
- Few green chilli
- 1 tbsp lemon water
- 1 cup semolina
- 2 tbsp garam masala
- 1/2 cup curd
- 1/4 tbsp black papper
- water
- oil
- 1 packed ENO powder
- 1 tbsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 tbsp white sesame
- Salt
Now let's see Method to make Aloo Dhokla step by step:
Step 1: Firstly take a medium size chopped potato, added to mixing grinder also add 1 finely chopped tomatoes, add 1 inch ginger, add 1 to 2 green chili, add 1 TSP lemon juice, add little bit water and grined it well.
( Potato pure is ready)
Step 2: Take a mixing bowl, add 1 cup semolina, add 2 TSP gram flour, add 1/2 cup curd , add potato pure,add 1/4 TSP black pepper,add salt as per taste mix all well and make a fine batter.
( If batter look look thick used little bit water)
The batter is ready and cover and keep reset for 10 to 15 min. ( So, that batter soak water)
Step 3:Now take a deep Steel bowl or else a steel cake pan do gress it with oil and placed a butter paper.
Step 4: Take a big pan or kada place a steel stand,add water and let it boiled .
( If you have Italy steer you can used that also)
Step 5: After 15 min you can see water is soke and add a bit of water also add 1 TSP oil and mix it well also add 1 packed eno powder again mixed it.
Step 6: Then placed the batter in the greased container.
Step 7: When above water is boiled then place the batter in it and stream for 15 min in medium flame.
( After 15 used knife to check weather the batter is cooked for inside or not, if it's not cook cook for more 2 to 4 min more)
Step 8: After it steem cook let it cool it then cut it from the corner and place it in a plate.
The sooji Aloo dhokla is ready!!
Step 9: Then cut it from into square shape.
Let's make tadka.
Step 10: Take a pan add 2 TSP oil , add 1 TSP mustard seeds, add 1/2 TSP white sesame, add few green chili saute it.
Step 11: Then place a square shape aloo dhokla and cook till it look like crispy frow both the sides.
Do the same process for all .
At last Aloo Dhokla is ready to serve it!!
