Dhai Vada recipe || How to make Dhai vada || Soft and Easy Dhai wada recipe

 Dhai Vada is Indian Subcontinents which is famous in all over the country. The Dhai in English know as yogurt and it's a Indian chat recipe. It is one of the popular street food which everyone love to have it. In the festival of Holi the Dhai Vada is a traditional dish without this the festival look incomplete.

As we known there are many street food like Pani puri, Manchurian, Noodles, Momos etc. When it come to street food all love the most whether it's Kid's or adults all age group jump to have it. But some time we can make those street food at home even and can enjoy with whole family by gossiping or by playing some games or by watching some movie any way you can enjoy it.

Dhai Vada Snacks  is one of my Fav dish which I try to make at home and also I though to share this recipe with you. To be frank the Dhai Vada can make very easily but in the the batter play an important roll.

Point to be noted:

  1. When your Whipping the batter it should be only in one direction only ( circular direction) 
  2. Before frying damp you're hand in water so, that the batter doesn't get stick in you're hand.
  3. While fry all the Vada in middle middle keep wetting your hands with water
  4. You can make the Vada size according your convenient 
  5. At the time of whipping curd don't used water

At the time of making Dhai Vada do keep in mind the above point and then prepaing the dish. You can even have Fry Vada with Coconut Chutney or with Tomato Sauce even.


Dhai Vada 

Now let's see How to make Dhai Vada step by step:

Equipment required:

  • Mixer grinder
  • Pan
  • 2 mixing bowl
  • 2 cooking spoon
  • 3 Plate
  • 1 mixing spoon
Ingredients required:

  • 1 cup urad dal
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 chopped green chili
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 3 tsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp asafoetida
  • Curd
  • Some red chili
  • Some fresh cumin seeds
  • some green chutney
  • some sweet and sour tamarind chutney.

Method To Make Dhai Vada

Step 1: First take 1 cup black split lentil ( urad dal ) without skin.

Soak for 4-6 hours

Step 2: Then strain the extra water out completely, after that transfer in the blender jar and make a fine batter.

( While blending it you can add 1-2 TSP water only)


Step 3: After blending transfer to a big bowl . So, that we can whip is nicely.

( For whipping, used your hand and do in one direction only so, that we get the best results)

You need to whip the batter for 8 to 10 min in circular motion only.

Step 4: After that add 1/2 TSP salt ,add 1 chopped green chili, add 1/2 tsp cumin seeds mix well.( By using hand)

Now the batter is ready!!


Now let's fry 

Step 5: Take a pan add 3 tsp oil heat it for fry, but before that damp the hand in water, then take the propitious of batter and drop it into the oil.

Do the same process for remaining batter at the time of frying.

Step 6: Fry them until the color turn into golden brown( fry vada in medium flame).

After frying remove it in a plate.

Do the same process for frying even.

At last the Vada are ready!!



Step 7: Take a big bowl add warm water, add 1/4 TSP of asafoetida in warm water and mix it well.

Step 8: Then add luke warm Vada into the luke warm water .

Do soak the Vada for at least 20 to 30 min only.

{ Meanwhile our vada are resting, let's prepaid the dahi }

Step 9: Take a curd ( which is make with half litter milk) 

Step 10: Then beat the curd nicely then add salt as per your taste ,add 2 TSP of powder sugar Whip it nicely.

Step 11: Now after 20 min you can see the Vada are fluffed up .

After that squeezed it lightly , so that it will be in round shape....

Step 12: Now take a serving plate place the Vada then spread the prepaid curd over it and also sprinkle some red chili powder , some fresh roasted cumin seeds powder, add some homemade Green chutney, add some sweet and sour  tamarind chutney.

At last yummy Dhai Vada is ready!!
