Sabudana is one of the healthy meal. Which is good for health. In sabudana, there are some protein, fat and a lack of vitamins and minerals. If you are planning for any die then you can add sabudana in your diet plan and the sabudana is also used in fasting. 


In Hindu culture at the time of fasting, they eat fruits and during lunch and dinner hour eat Sabudana or Dalia. These two are used during fasting because they are rich in energy. 


As this is Navratri festival is going on so many people will be in fasting and they will search of the different type of Sabudana dish. They are many types of the recipe of sabudana like sabudana khichdi, fry sabudana and sabudana vada etc.


Today I am going to share the Sabudana Vada recipe. Which is very instant in preparing and very easy.

About recipe: 

Preparing sabudana vada is quick simple and easy as it doesn't require extra ingredients and just need to follow few tips.

This vada can be prepared during the festival time or when you're fasting. At the time of mixing, you can even add black pepper powder and even used red chilli powder as per your are tastes. 


Tips need to follow:

  • Used the same measuring cup
  • At the time of soaking don't use much water.
  • You can check by pressing, whether they are soaked we'll or not.
  • Try to soak at least 5 hour
  • At the time of making tikkis press it from the middle.

Sabudana vada can be served with chutney or tomato sauce. I am also sharing east chutney recipes. That chutney you can prepare and stored in the fridge for a week even.

Sabudana Vada recipe

Ingredients required:

  • 1 cup sabudana
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Dry roasted peanuts
  • 3 boiled potato
  • 3 to 4 green chilli
  • Salt as per taste
  • Oil
  • 1/2 tbsp beers
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Few fresh coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp of powder sugar
  • Ginger
  • 2 to 3 tbsp of curd


How to make Sabudana Vada step by step

Step 1: Take a bowl, add 1 cup Sabudana wash well and soak by adding 1/4 cup of water.

(Soak 4 to 5 hours or overnight)

After 5 hours you can see the water has soak we'll and Sabu dana will be soft.

Step 2: Now take a little bit of dry roasted peanuts and grind it and make a powder.

( don't grind more)

Step 3: Mix the powder with Sabudana well and grate the 3 boiled potato, add salt as per taste, add a little bit of grated ginger, add 3 to 4 green chilli.

Step 4: Then add 1/2 tbsp jeers, add a few fresh coriander leaves, add 1 tbsp lemon juices, add 1 tbsp of powder sugar mix all the ingredients well.

( if you think the mixture is dry then add 1 tbsp oil)

Step 5: After mixing take oil in your hand and make round or oval tikkis. 

( at the time of making press it with your hands while making a round shape and there should not be any cracks in between)

Do the same way in making all the tikkis and after that rest them for 5 min.

Step 6: Then take a pan add oil heat it then fries the tikkis.

(Fry them for 3 to 4 min in medium flame only)

Do the same process for frying all tikkis.

At last Crispy Sabudana vada is ready!!

For Chutney

Step 7: Take a few roasted peanuts in a blender, add 1 small piece of ginger, add 3 to 4 green chilli, add fresh coriander leaves, add  2 to 3 tbsp curds and add salt as per taste and blended them nicely.

The quick chutney is ready.

At last tasty Sabudana and chutney is ready to serve!!
