Poha Dhokla recipe - Step by step
Poha Dhokla is an instant dish for breakfast. Poha and dhokla most popular in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The poha is a separate dish and Dhokla.
The poha is good for health and many people add poha to the diet chart because it keeps our stomach full for a long period and it contains fibre etc. We can make may variety of dish of poha and give them during breakfast time.
When coming to Dhokla it's made with basan which is better to have during any occasion or once in a week like that. The Dhokla can even serve guests during the evening time along with tea.
So, I have combined and made one recipe know as Poha Dhokla. Which is served during breakfast time, also packed in a kids lunch box, can also carry for office lunch.
About recipe:
This Poha Dhokla is also a Breakfast dish. It's made with poha and sponge-like dhokla and at the top tadka of dhokla.
Well, preparing this dish is very simple and easy. All only basic ingredients are required. I used the normal poha which we get in the market. You don't need to soak the poha overnight.
At the time of making I have used completely optional sugar, for the taste I have used. If you don't like it then you can avoid it. And at the time of garnishing, I sprinkle some coconut for a taste. If you don't like it you can avoid it.
Poha Dhokla can serve during breakfast or during the evening time with masala tea. The poha Dhokla give like that only a yummy 😋 taste if you are kids don't like then serve them with tomato sauce or with pudina chutney.

Ingredients required:
- Curd
- Salt
- Water
- Oil
- 1/2 suji
- 1&1/2 cup poha
- 1/4 turmeric
- Sugar
- 1 tbsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tbsp asafoetida
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1 chopped green chilli
Now, let's see How to make the Poha Dhokla recipe step by step:
Step 1: Firstly, take a bowl to add 1/2 cup of curd
Step 2: Then add salt and mix it.
Step 3: After that add 1/6 cup water, add 1 and 1/2 cup flattened rice ( poha) mix it well.
( cove it and rest it for a while)
Step 4: Now take a pan to add 1 tbsp oil, add 1/4 cup semolina ( suji), add 1/4 tbsp turmeric powder stir it well
Step 5: Then add the poha batter mix it well.
Step 6: After that add 1/2 cup yoghurt mix it, then add 1 tbsp chilli, add 1 &1/2 tbsp sugar, add salt as per taste, add 1/2 cup water and mix it well.
(Cook in high flame and keep mixing it)
Step 7: After it cooked at the end add 1 tbsp lemon juice mix it well.
The completed batter is ready
Step 8: Now take a steel module and grease 4 sides with oil, then add the batter in it and let it cool for some time.
Till that time let's prepared tasks, for that
Step 9: Take a small pan add oil heat it, then add 1 tbsp cumin seeds, add 1/2 tbsp asafoetida.
Step 10: Now off the flame and add 1 tbsp sesame seeds and 1 chopped green chilli mix it well and tadka is ready.
Step 11: Now for garnishing spread that tadka in poha Dhokla and also sprinkle some greeted coconut and a few chopped coriander leaves.
At last, poha Dhokla is ready to serve it!!
